Cleveland-based cellist Tara Hanish has performed worldwide accross the United States, Europe, Central Americal and South America.

From famous orchestra and recital halls to local bars and music venues, from the Grammy Awards to various music festivals, from YouTube videos to audio recordings, Ms. Hanish has performed in a variety of venues with an assortment of ensembles.

Education & Training...

Ms. Hanish is a graduate from the Professional Studies program at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She received her Masters degree in cello performance on full scholarship from the University of Miami, and her Bachelors degree in cello performance with High Honors from the University of Michigan. Her principal instructors include Richard Aaron, Ross Harbaugh, Anthony Elliott, and Louis Potter, Jr..

Ms. Hanish is certified in the Suzuki Cello Method, and received her teacher training with Tanya Carey and Barbara Wampner.

Ms. Hanish has received additional orchestral repertoire instruction from Stephen Geber, Richard Weiss and Alan Harrell. She has received chamber music coachings from Peter Salaff of the Clevleand Quartet, members of the Cavani String Quartet and members of the Miami String Quartet. Ms. Hanish has also performed in master classes for Antonio Meneses, Jules Eskin and Peter Shelton.

Tara has attended the New Directions Cello Festival and is an alumnist of the Henry Mancini Institute, Youth Orchestra of the Americas and the Interlochen Arts Festival. She is a member of the Cleveland Cello Society, New Directions Cello Association and the American Federation of Musicians.
