Unsparing Sea's debut album, A Cloud in the Cathedral, was recorded at Zombie Proof in Cleveland, in August of 2007. Album reviews have been featured in the Cleveland Free Times, I Rock Cleveland, and the Cleveland Scene.

Unsparing Sea formed in 2006 with Jamie Bennett on vocals and guitar, Dave Maison on bass guitar, Marc Howell on drums, and Tara on cello. The group now also includes Sarah Leitten on the saw/accordion/theramin/etc., Ryan on drums, Mike Marks on bass & banjo, and John Kugler on trumpet.
Unsparing Sea recently performed in the North by Northeast Music & Film Festival in Toronto! The four day festival showcased over 500 local, national and international performers, and entertained around 100,000 people.
